Key Responsibilities:

As part of the Global Operational Risk Team, you will:

  • Facilitate and critically assess operational risk evaluations across various departments, aiding stakeholders in identifying key risks and establishing mitigating controls.
  • Prepare comprehensive operational risk reports for senior management, including documentation of losses and near misses aligned with our risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure effective key risk indicators are in place, enabling adherence to local risk appetites.
  • Analyze trends in key risk indicators and propose controls to avert future risk events.
  • Support the maintenance of risk data within operational risk systems, ensuring accurate updates and records.
  • Oversee a centralized incident and breach register, ensuring incidents are thoroughly analyzed and mitigated.
  • Revise local operational risk policies to reflect best practices and align with group standards.
  • Assist in conducting periodic monitoring and risk reviews to ensure the effectiveness of implemented controls.
  • Engage in internal and external audits, ensuring recommendations are tracked and implemented.
  • Deliver operational risk training and maintain professional development to keep pace with industry changes.
  • Represent CMC Markets professionally in all internal and external engagements.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years in an operational risk role within the financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk principles and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent organizational and relationship management skills.
  • Outstanding communication abilities, particularly in facilitating risk assessments.
  • A relevant degree or qualification.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with CFDs and stockbroking products.
  • Knowledge of operational risk systems.
  • Understanding of BCM standards.
