Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Specialist to join our global Risk Management Group based in Sydney. The successful candidate will provide guidance to Macquarie's operating and support groups on the management of material risks and deliver oversight, challenge, and insights on Macquarie's risk profile.

About the Role

As an Operational Risk Specialist in our Change and Challenge team, you will support the governance of Macquarie's Operational Risk Material Risk Frameworks, related strategic initiatives, and embedment of principles across the organisation. You will identify and propose improvement opportunities that will inform the design of Macquarie's risk management frameworks and develop subject matter expertise across risk assessments, control management, assurance, issues, and incident management and policy governance to provide effective oversight over our frameworks and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the governance of Macquarie's Operational Risk Material Risk Frameworks
  • Develop subject matter expertise across risk assessments, control management, assurance, issues, and incident management and policy governance
  • Identify and propose improvement opportunities to inform the design of Macquarie's risk management frameworks

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a comparable role in Banking and Financial Services
  • Strong understanding of risk and control management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and multiple levels, coupled with strong attention to detail
