The RoleRystad Energy is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to expand our footprint in the oil & gas industry by generating new relationships with upstream operators and service companies in Australia.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional new business generation skills, experience in solution selling, and a strong network in the energy industry.
As part of the sales team, the role holder can expect the support of our global client-facing research analysts and product specialists.
Responsibilities- Build a pipeline of new companies to target and design an outreach program in connection with our Marketing team.
- Present the company, our research, and services in person and web conferences.
- Understand the core needs of each client type and build an effective value proposition.
- Network at industry events to expand our brand and manage interactions through the company's CRM system.
- Communicate internally with research, sales colleagues, and management on activities and results.
- Provide feedback and suggestions on product enhancement and new product ideas.
- Ensure new clients are onboarded properly and manage the right activities to deliver on an annual sales target.
- 5-10 years of new client acquisition in the energy industry, market intelligence, or adjacent industries.
- A graduate degree, postgraduate desirable.
- Negotiating with procurement and/or senior management.
- Selling research databases or consulting services is preferred.
- Experience in selling subscription services is highly desirable.
- Pipeline management best practices and new business generation skills.
- Experience with energy-focused data and software sales related to energy supply analysis, modeling, screening, and valuations.
- Goal-oriented self-starter that can work independently, as part of a team, and pull in resources as required.
- Building value propositions for our databases based upon specific personas and company types.
- A strong existing network and the ability to quickly and effectively build new networks.
- Using standard Office tools and CRM systems.
- Sales pipeline management and robust forecasting.
