Medical Laboratory Technician Job Overview

This is a temporary full-time opportunity to work in a dynamic team of technicians and scientists who use established values to serve the community.

You will be located at Shoalhaven Pathology and will be working in a team who apply laboratory processes, procedures and protocols.

The successful candidate will have experience in Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology and Transfusion Science, as well as leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a range of laboratory investigations and tests by applying established methods and procedures.
  • Undertake other laboratory duties including preparation of materials and maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services within a discipline relevant to the department.
  • Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes.
  • Customer focused approach displaying interpersonal skills and good communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and patients.
  • Display initiative, problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to apply established principles in a pathology laboratory.
  • Commitment to quality management and continuous quality improvement, identifying and implementing quality and service improvement activities.
