This is a temporary full-time position available with potential ongoing employment. The successful applicant will join our dynamic team of technicians and scientists, working in a supportive environment.

About the Role
  • Perform laboratory investigations and tests using established methods and procedures.
  • Undertake technical tasks, including preparation of materials and equipment maintenance, in line with established laboratory processes and protocols.
  • Work efficiently, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines and deliver results within specified timeframes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals, while working autonomously to meet client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver pathology services, utilizing Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Systems.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, patients, and clinical laboratory staff.
  • Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to investigate and resolve issues within the laboratory environment.
  • Identify and implement quality and service improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services, including use of relevant systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing competing priorities.
  • Customer-focused approach, with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Transfusion Science, and leadership skills.
