Autism Support Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day support to children and young people with autism, as well as assisting in the development and implementation of individual support plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support to individuals with autism in their homes, learning environments, and the centre, as rostered and as per their individual support plans.
- Develop and implement individual support plans, and monitor, evaluate, and review them as needed.
- Assist in coordinating the day-to-day activities of other staff working on autism support programs, and contribute to the development and implementation of novel autism-specific programs.
- Develop resources and training opportunities to support the autism programs.
- Undertake professional development, including self-reflection, to ensure ongoing improvement and excellence in practice.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic support to individuals with autism who are receiving multiple services.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, and adhere to the organization's values and philosophy.
- Ensure the environment is kept safe and hygienic at all times.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including families, carers, and other professionals.
- Cert IV or equivalent in disability qualifications or similar.
- Level 2 First Aid and CPR with Anaphylaxis training.
- Working with Children Check.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- NDIS Orientation Module Certificate.
- Medication management training.
