Electrical Design Lead

A high-profile opportunity exists for an experienced Senior or Associate Electrical Engineer to join a well-regarded building services consultancy in Brisbane. This role will suit an ambitious engineer with a strong technical foundation in electrical design who also enjoys engaging with clients and leading projects.

You'll be working on a diverse range of projects across the commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and mixed-use sectors, delivering innovative, sustainable, and future-focused design solutions. This is a client-facing position with the opportunity to step into a leadership role, mentor junior engineers, and play a key part in growing the Brisbane office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of electrical services across multiple building projects.
  • Manage client relationships, attend design meetings, and act as the primary point of contact.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Contribute to business development by nurturing existing clients and supporting growth initiatives.
  • Oversee project documentation, coordination with other disciplines, and ensure compliance with Australian Standards.
  • Drive innovation in energy efficiency, lighting, power distribution, and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer with 5–12 years' building services consultancy experience.
  • Proven capability in leading electrical services design projects from concept to delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and client-facing experience.
  • Ability to manage teams, mentor junior staff, and coordinate across disciplines.
  • Commercially minded, with an interest in contributing to business growth.
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or working towards this highly regarded qualification.
