Job Overview

Develop and review electrical design packages for solar PV plants, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and associated transmission lines.

  • Craft and assess electrical design packages for large-scale renewable projects, including solar PV plants, BESS, substations, and transmission lines.
  • Review procurement specifications for high voltage/mid voltage/low voltage equipment, inverters, BESS systems, protection systems, SCADA systems, and control systems.
  • Create site layouts, general arrangements, single line diagrams, elevations, and required drawings as well as cable schedules.
  • Collaborate with BOP contractors, integrators, suppliers, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders for project development and construction.
  • Support EPC tender/procurement processes and prepare relevant documentation.
  • Interface with network service providers, distribution network service providers, and the Australian Energy Market Operator for technical discussions.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and surveys at remote project locations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

We are seeking a professional with:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2–5 years' experience in HV electrical design, grid connection, and project delivery for large-scale renewable projects.
  • Proficiency in AUTOCAD and PVSYST.
  • Understanding of high voltage substations (33–330kV), transmission line design, and protection systems.
  • Ability to effectively liaise with network service providers, AEMO, EPCs, OEMs.
  • Familiarity with EPC contracts and construction technical support.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
