Forest Research Expert Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Forest Research Expert to lead assessments of forest resources using remote sensing and participatory GIS mapping to develop investment frameworks for sustainable forestry.

The successful candidate will collaborate with project investigators, contribute to high-impact publications, and present findings at conferences and seminars.

Liaise with industry partners and government bodies to ensure practical relevance of research outcomes.

Contribute to teaching and supervision of research students, primarily at the undergraduate level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead forest resource assessments using remote sensing and participatory GIS mapping
  • Collaborate with project investigators and contribute to high-impact publications
  • Present findings at conferences and seminars
  • Liaise with industry partners and government bodies
  • Contribute to teaching and supervision of research students

Requirements:

  • PhD in forest ecology or a related field
  • Strong GIS and remote sensing skills
  • Ability to design and implement field-based research programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary research environment
