About the Role



The Lead Application Analyst plays a critical role in driving the Department's digital transformation by developing and maintaining large, complex corporate systems. This position requires a strong technical background, with expertise in design, analysis, and programming, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.



Key Responsibilities



  • Provide design, analysis, and programming expertise for the development and enhancement of complex software applications and systems.

  • Offer ongoing third-level technical support for applications, including troubleshooting, incident management, and problem resolution.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation, including technical guides, user manuals, and problem resolution knowledge bases.

  • Assume technical responsibility for all stages of the software development process, ensuring compliance with development standards and achievement of documented requirements.

  • Monitor applications for issues, analyze logs, and generate reports to ensure system performance and security.

  • Contribute to ICT planning and resource allocation, ensuring that programs and systems are considered in the context of emerging ICT requirements.



Requirements



  • Demonstrated experience in one or more large-scale enterprise technologies, including experience in supporting application maintenance, platform upgrades, and incident management.

  • Significant knowledge in design, development, and testing of applications based on object-oriented programming languages, including RESTful APIs, VueJS/React, J2EE/Java, and OpenShift.

  • Sound working knowledge of IT service management principles and frameworks, including ITIL, process tools, frameworks, and best practice methods.

  • Experience in front-end development using VueJS, React, or Angular.

  • Currency of and in-depth familiarity of databases such as Oracle and/or SQL Server.

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's ICT policies and procedures, ensuring quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
