The role of Senior Communications Leader is a key position within an organisation that oversees the operation, maintenance and development of premier public stadiums.

About the OpportunityThis senior leader will play a central role in shaping the organisation's public voice and strengthening its relationships across government and key stakeholders.
The role leads the organisation's government engagement, external and internal communications, corporate and public affairs strategies—ensuring alignment with strategic priorities while enhancing the organisation's reputation, managing risk, and supporting long-term growth.
With responsibility for both internal and external communications across the organisation's head office and venue portfolio, the role ensures consistent, clear, and impactful messaging that supports organisational goals and strengthens stakeholder trust.
Key Responsibilities- Developing and implementing effective communication strategies to drive business outcomes.
- Leading high-performing teams to deliver exceptional results in stakeholder engagement, media relations, and crisis communications.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organisational objectives.
- Maintaining strong relationships with government agencies, industry partners, and community groups.
- Providing expert advice on communication best practices and developing organisational policies and procedures.
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years in senior government roles, public policy, political advisory or communications roles.
- Proven experience in managing complex stakeholder environments and leading high-impact communication strategies.
- Strong understanding of political, regulatory, and media landscapes.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong strategic thinking and judgment.
- Experience managing crisis communications and reputational risk.
- Ability to influence at the highest levels internally and externally.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to effectively collaborate with team members and a demonstrated desire to inspire and promote the organisation's values.
- Be adaptable, with a 'can do' attitude and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to ensure a premium brand experience.
- Hold a current driver's license.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Tasmanian working with vulnerable people check.
