Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership – Develop and implement strategies that drive the organization's activities forward.
- Resource Management – Allocate and oversee resources to ensure effective strategy execution.
- Performance Monitoring – Regularly assess the organization's performance and make adjustments as needed.
- Compliance Oversight – Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management – Establish a risk management framework to inform decision-making.
- Accountability – Provide regular progress reports and align the interests of stakeholders.
- Critical Thinking – Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities and threats.
- Risk Identification – Capacity to recognize key risks and contribute to addressing clinical risks.
- Governance Knowledge – Familiarity with best practice corporate and clinical governance structures, policies, and processes.
- Purpose Alignment – Passion for the organization's work and commitment to supporting victim-survivors.
- Interpersonal Skills – Ability to collaborate effectively with other board members.
- Socio-Cultural Awareness – Understanding of the socio-cultural, legal, and regulatory environment influencing sexual violence, child protection, and domestic violence.
- Professional Development – Willingness to commit to director professional education and engage in activities improving board performance.
- Not-for-Profit Experience – Background working in a not-for-profit community-based organization.
- Trauma-Informed Care – Experience working with clients experiencing or having experienced traumatic events.
- Diversity Training – Training or experience in working with diverse groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disabilities, and culturally, linguistically, and religiously diverse communities.
- Intersectional Approach – Understanding of sexual assault through an intersectional lens considering gender and other inequalities/oppressions.
