Health and Safety Specialist

This is a senior role that will oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive health and safety strategy for our organization. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in embedding a strong safety culture and driving improvements in workplace health and safety.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Developing and maintaining a safety management system that ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Providing guidance and support to employees on health and safety matters, including risk assessments, hazard reporting, and return to work strategies.
- Liaising with external stakeholders, such as WorkCover, to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.
- Leading a team of experienced safety professionals to provide day-to-day leadership and support.
Requirements for this role include:
- Tertiary qualification in health and safety or a related field.
- Significant experience working in a similar role, with a proven track record in improving workplace health and safety.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence others.
- A comprehensive understanding of contemporary health and safety legislation and standards.
