The Murray-Darling Basin Authority is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team in designing and deploying cloud-based solutions.

The key responsibilities include evaluating new cloud technologies and services, staying up to date with industry trends and advancements. Develop and maintain documentation related to MDIRAS' cloud architecture. Ensure compliance with legislation and data privacy laws.

Responsibilities also include assessing resource requirements, scalability, and performance needs. Plan for future growth and optimize resource allocation within Azure. Monitor usage, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure efficient spending on Azure resources.

We are looking for someone who can design and implement disaster recovery strategies using Azure services like Azure Site Recovery or Azure Backup. Ensuring business continuity during outages is essential.

Key skills required include a strong understanding of Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure SQL Database. Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Azure CLI is crucial for automating tasks, managing resources, and deploying infrastructure as code.

Familiarity with Azure security features, identity management (such as Azure Active Directory) and understanding Azure networking components (such as Virtual Networks, Subnets, and Network Security Groups) is beneficial.

Azure DevOps, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and version control (e.g., Git) knowledge is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential.
