Cloud Engineer Role

At Chamonix, we are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team. This role is focused on designing and delivering modern, scalable infrastructure solutions for critical systems across defence and enterprise environments.

This opportunity blends hands-on engineering with infrastructure design and DevSecOps enablement – all underpinned by Infrastructure as Code.

Job Description

We're looking for someone with expertise in Azure who can work collaboratively with architects to contribute to solution design and planning. The ideal candidate will have strong experience deploying services using Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps principles.

  1. Design and deploy secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
  2. Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment
  3. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
  4. Collaborate with architects to contribute to solution design and planning
  5. Apply security and compliance controls, aligned with the ISM framework
  6. Build monitoring, alerting, and logging into cloud environments
  7. Work across enterprise and defence clients to deliver secure, scalable, well-architected solutions

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a Cloud Engineer role with expertise in Azure
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience in Azure services
  • Minimum of 2+ years' hands-on experience with Terraform or equivalent IaC language(s)
  • Strong experience deploying services using Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps principles
  • Proven ability to build and maintain DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • Experience working within or aligning to the security frameworks such as the ACSC ISM
