We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team, providing high-quality clinical support to individuals affected by sexual assault and children with harmful sexual behaviours.
This role involves conducting culturally sensitive intake assessments, providing information about our services, and collaborating with other organisations to ensure clients access necessary support.
As a key member of our team, you will provide confidential face-to-face and telephone counselling, monitor client progress, and tailor responses to their diverse backgrounds and preferences.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide confidential counselling for adults, children, and young people affected by sexual violence.
- Monitor client progress and adapt responses to individual needs.
- Conduct intake assessments and provide information about our services and supports.
- Collaborate with other organisations to reduce the impact of sexual harm.
- Support clients through legal and medical processes following recent sexual assaults.
- Perform urgent risk assessments to ensure safety for clients and others.
- Maintain accurate records and files, prepare court reports, and serve as a credible witness when required.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of counselling programs.
- Participate in outreach initiatives and advocate for clients' needs within our service system.
