Supervising Scientific/Technical Officer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Supervising Scientific/Technical Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in managing laboratory operations, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

">About the Role

The Supervising Scientific/Technical Officer will be responsible for coordinating the provision of effective research operations support within the Faculty's research spaces and programs. This includes providing specialist advice to senior managers and academic leaders, coordinating resources, managing staff, and adopting a calm and consultative approach to achieving objectives and solving problems.

  • Manage laboratory operations and provide scientific services to support research activities.
  • Lead a high-performing team committed to continuous improvement and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve desired outcomes in a complex environment.
  • Collaborate with senior managers and academic leaders to identify and address research needs and opportunities.
">Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Mechanical Technology/Engineering degree or a higher degree with at least four years' subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated ability to nurture and lead a high-performing team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Proven problem identification and resolution skills.
