Teacher Job Description

About Australian Christian College Victoria Ltd, a non-denominational education organisation. We aim to develop students spiritually, academically, socially and physically.

Australia's largest non-government distance education provider has 17 schools in five states.

The ACC Casey campus is located at Skye, with secondary year groups being added each year.

This full-time generalist teacher role involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for identity, rights to work in Australia, and child protection in accordance with policy.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement teaching programs or courses of study;
  • Have content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to improving professional practice through coaching and professional development;
  • Provide a child-safe environment in accordance with standards;
  • Participate in child safety and wellbeing induction and training provided by the school and always follow policies and procedures;
  • Act in accordance with our Child Safety Code of Conduct;
  • Identify and raise concerns about child safety issues in accordance with policy and Procedures;
  • Ensure students' views are taken seriously and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives;
  • Model and promote the vision and values of the school;
  • Teach an area of the curriculum to primary levels;
  • Maintain records of class attendance and recording student progress;
  • Implement effective student management consistent with the strategic plan;
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as required;
  • Be actively involved in regular staff devotions and prayer.
Qualifications:
  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia;
  • Proof of identity;
  • Recognised teaching qualification;
  • Clearance status of the Working with Children Check (where applicable);
  • Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT);
  • Statements of service from previous child-connected roles;
  • References from previous child-connected roles.

  • Be committed to improving student academic outcomes;
  • Have high expectations for what students are capable of, both academically and behaviourally;
  • Relate well to staff, students, and parents;
  • Have a servant heart;
  • Have demonstrated excellent organisational skills.
