Senior Sexual Health Specialist

Clinical Nurse Specialists are highly skilled nursing professionals responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in Sexual Health Services.
This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, ensuring quality outcomes for patients. You will also be involved in providing high-level nursing care, contact tracing, client follow-up, health promotion and prevention interventions for individuals at risk of or presenting with sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses (BBVs).
You will have a strong understanding of transmission and prevention of STIs and BBVs, including viral hepatitis and harm minimisation principles. Additionally, you will have advanced knowledge of clinical consultancy, leadership, education, and data management.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective nursing care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide high-level nursing care, contact tracing and client follow-up for individuals at risk of or presenting with STIs and BBVs
- Conduct health promotion and prevention interventions, including education and training programs
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Approved post-registration qualifications in the specialty field with at least 3 years of full-time recent experience in the clinical area; ability to undertake further studies in Sexual Health and HIV as required
- Advanced knowledge of transmission and prevention of STIs and BBVs, including viral hepatitis and harm minimisation principles
