The Role:

We're seeking a skilled Gardener to join our team at our station complex. As a Gardener, you'll be responsible for maintaining the garden and surrounding areas, performing general garden maintenance, and ensuring the overall appearance of the complex is presentable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out duties in a planned way, following work schedules and organizing materials and equipment prior to commencing work
  • Mow, whipper snip, and water lawn areas within the station complex
  • Maintain fences, hedges, garden beds, and sprinklers
  • Maintain gardens through pruning, weeding, mulching, and planting
  • Prepare and apply garden chemicals
  • Take rubbish to the dump
  • Use a chainsaw to trim trees and large shrubs
  • Feed animals around the homestead
  • Perform routine checks on all equipment before use
  • Operate equipment as required, following all safety precautions and observing and reporting equipment issues
  • Perform routine maintenance as required and report any major repair needs
  • Maintain personal equipment in reliable condition
  • Maintain a tidy and clean workplace and quarters
  • Apply chemicals as required, operating only under supervision until trained, and follow chemical management procedures in AACo Reference Manuals
  • Maintain water supply equipment in good working order
  • Commit to innovative environmental management to protect our natural resources and promote sustainable agriculture
