We are seeking an experienced Accountant Leader to manage the financial data of the Public Transport Authority in alignment with current practices, policy, and legislative requirements.
This pivotal role involves ensuring the efficient management and reporting of financial data, driving continuous improvement in business processes, analysis, and reporting, and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and team development within the Finance & Contracts Division.
As an Accountant Leader, you will oversee the Public Transport Authority's Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reporting process, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data, and provide advice on the development and review of Tariffs, Fees, and Charge models.
Responsibilities- Manage the public transport system's financial data in accordance with current practices, policy, and legislative requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in business processes, analysis, and reporting to enhance capability and performance.
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and team development within the Finance & Contracts Division.
- Oversee the Public Transport Authority's KPI reporting process to ensure accuracy and reliability of data.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Well-developed management and leadership skills to mentor, coach, and develop team members.
- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills to work effectively with colleagues.
- Proven ability to evaluate and design management information to address financial and operational performance.
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills to analyse complex financial information and data from an operational perspective within time, financial, and corporate constraints.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced Accountant with a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business, and eligibility for membership to ICAA, CPA, or IPA.
You will have a strong understanding of accounting practices, including the Financial Management Act, Treasurer's Instructions, and Australian Accounting Standards.
