Senior Research Associate in Genomics and Future Health Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Research Associate in Genomics and Future Health Systems to join our team at the University of New South Wales.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain strong linkages with researchers in the Faculty of Science, particularly those working on clinically relevant genomics and bioinformatics.
- Interface with clinicians and NSW Health to streamline genomic technology adoption and highlight clinical needs to the Ramaciotti Centre for Genomics.
- Contribute to the development of applications for competitive funding under the guidance of senior colleagues.
- Participate as a co-investigator or chief investigator in competitive grant applications or demonstrate active participation in research collaborations funded by competitive grants.
- Design research projects.
- Mentor and guide students and colleagues, and develop the next generation of academics through involvement in supervision of HDRs.
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to proactively keep up to date with knowledge and developments in clinical genomics and future health systems.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality academic research in clinically relevant genomics and related bioinformatics, including literature reviews and rapid evidence synthesis, and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- Demonstrated track record in clinically relevant genomics research with outcomes of high quality and high impact, with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence, as well as the capacity for research leadership.
- A track record of significant involvement with the health profession and/or health-related industries.
- High-level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff from different research disciplines.
