About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Clinician to join our team in Goulburn, NSW. As a Senior Clinician, you will provide trauma-informed, culturally safe intensive therapeutic interventions and integrated psychosocial responses to young people experiencing complex and severe mental health concerns.
The Youth Mental Health Initiative (YMHI) is a new youth mental health service that aims to improve early access to care for young people presenting to headspace services with severe and complex mental health needs. The YMHI will enhance youth mental health supports in Southern NSW by improving integration across services.
As a Senior Clinician, you will work closely with local specialist Community Mental Health teams, co-located within the headspace centres. You will collaborate with partner agencies, develop streamlined referral pathways and ensure timely transition of care between partner services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide trauma-informed, culturally safe intensive therapeutic interventions and integrated psychosocial responses to young people experiencing complex and severe mental health concerns.
- Work closely with local specialist Community Mental Health teams, co-located within the headspace centres.
- Collaborate with partner agencies to develop streamlined referral pathways and ensure timely transition of care between partner services.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists or Psychologists, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for Social Workers.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience and knowledge in providing evidence-based mental health assessment and treatment for young people and their carers, as well as demonstrated understanding of the principles of trauma informed care and its application.
- Ability to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues.
