Job Description

Our team is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to fill the role of Townperson. As a vital part of our Environment and Planning Group, you will be responsible for maintaining Council assets and infrastructure with a focus on safety, customer service, and community pride.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in horticulture or related maintenance roles and possess essential skills such as operating tools like mowers, chainsaws, and hand tools. Strong teamwork skills and commitment to safety and environmental standards are also highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance tasks including mowing, street cleaning, drainage maintenance, and upkeep of public facilities.
  • Operate and maintain small plant and equipment, ensuring all work is conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Uphold Council's values of sustainability, integrity, respect, and professionalism in all tasks.
  • Provide exceptional service to our community, ensuring public spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • White Card (WHS General Construction Induction)
  • Class C Driver's License
  • Traffic Controller certification
  • Hands-on experience in horticulture or related maintenance roles
  • Proven ability to operate tools such as mowers, chainsaws, and hand tools
  • Strong teamwork skills and commitment to safety and environmental standards
