Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for adjusting, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.

As an HVAC Engineer, you will work closely with the Lead HVAC Mechanic and Shift Manager to ensure the efficient operation of our facilities. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and resolving technical issues related to our HVAC systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial industrial equipment, with a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role. A Florida state EPA HVAC License is also required. If you are a motivated and organized individual with excellent problem-solving skills, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Adjusts, repairs, troubleshoots, and maintains heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
  • Performs all preventive maintenance on systems and maintains applicable log books.
  • Conducts walk-through inspections; changes belts, filters, adjusts volume dampers, checks gauges, coils, drain lines, bleeds gas lines, resets compressors, check unit sensors, relocates ductwork, and troubleshoots to locate sources and cause of malfunction.
  • Assists with estimating parts, supplies, equipment, and labor hours needed to complete assigned repairs and monitors computer for malfunctions.
  • Maintains quality of air, air flow, and temperature at on- and off-site facilities; adjusts valves to regulate temperature of lubrication oil and flow of water through system.
  • Records gauge readings, repairs completed, and time lost due to inoperative equipment.
  • Maintains technical logs and records all relevant data as appropriate.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or technical certificate required, as well as a minimum of three years' experience with commercial industrial equipment or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • A Florida state EPA HVAC License is also required.
  • Must possess basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and interpret schematics, plans, diagrams, and drawings.
