Overview

Role: Quality System Specialist Numurkah

GrainCorp connects rural communities with food, animal feed, and industrial customers around the world. We are committed to sustainable agriculture and leading in quality management practices.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role supports the management and enhancement of cost‑effective quality systems. We maintain accreditation against SQF Practitioner and HACCP, and success in this role relies on a solid understanding of quality systems and relevant legislation, and on influencing internal stakeholders for quality compliance and audit outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess operational risks associated with food safety and quality
  • Develop and improve quality systems and food standards to meet required standards
  • Interpret external quality standards and implement cost‑effective and compliant systems
  • Host all external third‑party and internal quality system audits

From a professional development perspective, this role offers opportunities to lead corrective action planning and implement actions from internal and external audit processes.

Qualifications
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in food and/or applied sciences
  • HACCP qualification and applied experience are valuable
  • Solid auditing experience in a quality role within an FMCG environment
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem‑solving and prioritisation skills; self‑starting approach
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment is advantageous
