Job Summary:

The State Government Of Victoria, Australia is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Principal to join our team. As an Assistant Principal, you will play a key role in leading and managing the school's educational programs, staff, and resources to ensure the highest quality education for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement whole school curriculum documentation and oversee the implementation of the school wellbeing program.
  • Work with the SWPBS regional coach to oversee implementation across the school and coach and mentor staff to implement SWPBS processes and procedures with fidelity.
  • Represent the school on the RRRR network group and lead professional learning for staff on the Berry Street Education Model.
  • Lead the Wellbeing and Inclusion team, chair Wellbeing Inclusion meetings, and oversee the work of the Inclusion (DI).
  • Contribute to the daily organisation and manage the allocation and replacement of Teachers and Education Support staff.
  • Oversee the Education Support staff allocation and chair ES team meetings.
  • Organise and facilitate SSGs and contribute to the development of IEPs for students with additional learning needs as required.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the school as part of the School Improvement Team.
  • Monitor student attendance and work with teams to follow up and address absences across the school.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Attitudes to School Survey and present findings and strategies for improvement to the School Improvement Team.
  • Oversee the collection of the NCCD data and AECD census.
  • Oversee the development of budgets and the allocation and expenditure of resources for all program areas within the portfolio.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Mental Health Practitioners in Schools and Mental Health in Primary Schools initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents to achieve school goals.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
