**VIT LANTITE**:
To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements. This condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian Initial Teacher Education program completed by the person.

**Belmont Primary School exists for its children.**
Belmont Primary School was established in 1856, being one of the earliest schools provided in the Geelong area. The school is situated close to the Belmont shopping and business centre and in the centre of the original Belmont suburb. Strong links with many families whose members attended the school in the past have been maintained. A significant sense of history exists within the school and its community.
Our school has outstanding and modern facilities having benefited enormously in recent years from significant State and Federal grants. Our learning spaces now reflect and allow for great scope in providing a range of individual, collaborative and interactive spaces for student learning.
The school operates a 1:1 BYOD device program for students in Years 3-6 and continues to invest in technology to provide banks of iPads and Notebook computers for student use.

Social: community and demographics
The school enrolment is currently 301 students, with twelve grades. The school enrolment increased substantially in the last ten years with increases at all year levels and now is near capacity.
Students attending the school largely come from families where one or both parents are employed. The school has a Student Family Occupation of 0.21 which has fallen in recent years suggesting an increasing number of our parents arrive with higher levels of education and employment. The partnership between home and school is very positive with families placing a strong emphasis on education and providing valuable support for the school through School Council, Parents¿ Club and as classroom and special activities helpers. The school also supports families through the provision of a well-managed and highly regarded Before and After School Care Program.
