Policy Implementation and Advice
The role involves developing and implementing policy consistent with legislation and Commonwealth policies. This requires providing timely and accurate commercial and/or procurement policy advice on complex issues.
- Develop and implement policy that meets stakeholder needs, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements.
- Provide expert commercial and/or procurement policy advice to support informed decision-making.
- Identify areas for improvement in procurement policy and practice, proposing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
About Our Team
This team provides first-level support to customers seeking procurement and contracting assistance. They engage across Defence and externally to educate and improve end users' procurement knowledge and practice.
The Commercial Policy Team owns and manages Defence's procurement and contracting policy, processes, templates, guidance, and commercial capability development.
