Disability Support Specialist: Empowering Independence

Maxi Care Plus is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling and independent lives. As a Disability Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing holistic care and support to people with physical, intellectual, and/or sensory disabilities.
About the RoleThis dynamic position involves assisting participants in their daily activities, encouraging social and community participation, and empowering them to live their best lives. You will be part of a supportive and inclusive team environment where your contributions are valued.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility, promoting dignity and independence at all times.
- Support participants in accessing community-based activities and opportunities that align with their interests and goals, promoting social inclusion and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with participants, their families, and other support professionals to develop individual care plans and assist with the achievement of personal goals.
- Administer medication, monitor health conditions, and ensure that participants' overall well-being is managed effectively. Liaise with healthcare professionals when required.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided, progress, and any incidents, in line with NDIS guidelines and legal requirements.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in disability support, aged care, or a related field (highly desirable)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with participants and their families
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude towards people with disabilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
