Immersive Mobile Experience Designer

About the Role:

This is a pivotal position where you'll drive high-quality outcomes in mobile accounting, collaborating closely with cross-functional leaders. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of mobile experiences.

As an experienced leader, you'll mentor designers, lead design initiatives, and continually improve quality, usability, and craft. If passionate about native mobile product design, this opportunity will enable you to make a real difference in people's business lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Design, Product, and Development teams to set design vision and direction for Xero's native mobile experiences
  • Collaborate with Research and Product colleagues to identify research opportunities, plan, and undertake research and testing
  • Promote the value of design and collaboration across the organization
  • Communicate design work to diverse audiences
  • Challenge current solutions by exploring ideal future concepts and identifying new interaction solutions and patterns that meet customer needs better
  • Develop prototypes demonstrating proposed concepts or solutions
  • Influence, challenge, and support designers to deliver high-quality product experiences
  • Design smart and contextually relevant interactions and interfaces
  • Prepare effective handover materials communicating how designs should look and behave throughout interaction flows and journeys

Requirements:

  • Proven track record designing native mobile experiences across iOS and Android platforms
  • Experience innovating and delivering complex design experiences at scale
  • Ability to solve customers' problems through design thinking and execution
  • A portfolio demonstrating high-quality design outcomes contributing to user experience and business value
  • Mastery of the entire design process from uncovering customer needs to executing elegant interfaces
  • Excellent communication skills
