Our client, a prominent global financial services provider, is in search of a Senior Fund Accountant to enhance their custody division in Sydney. The successful applicant will possess a minimum of four years' expertise in fund accounting and unit pricing, with a solid understanding of tax services and prior supervisory experience.

Core Responsibilities:

The Senior Fund Accountant is responsible for verifying and reviewing the output of the Fund Accountants, ensuring precision and quality in reporting. This role involves direct client interaction, as the individual will oversee the timely and accurate delivery of client reports. Responsibilities may encompass unit pricing, month-end reporting packages, distribution calculations, taxable income assessments, and BAS/GST obligations.

This position plays a vital role in fostering and maintaining client relationships by assisting the Account Managers, Client Service Managers, and the wider team.

Essential Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of unit pricing reports.
  • Execution of statutory reporting.
  • Development of accounting reports.
  • Management of tax reports and related administrative tasks.
  • Resolution of client and interdepartmental inquiries and ad hoc requests.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

A minimum of 4 years' experience in fund accounting, unit pricing, and some exposure to tax, ideally with a comprehensive understanding of the full-service model of master custody.

Broad Experience Includes:

  • Unit pricing.
  • Regulatory and statutory reporting.
  • Tax reporting.
  • Valuation and accounting.
  • Calculations for distributions or taxable income.
  • Preparation of tax returns.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff members.

Systems Proficiency:

  • Hi-Portfolio.
  • PControl unit pricing system.
  • MS Office Suite.

The ideal candidate will possess a curious and analytical mindset, strong time management skills, and the ability to meet critical deadlines. You will demonstrate excellent numeracy and analytical capabilities while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for mentoring and reviewing the work of Fund Accountants.
