Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Trade and Industry Development Strategist to lead the delivery of funded projects related to trade facilitation, capacity building, and industry development.

About the Role

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to advance Australia's interests and role in the region through effective project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure a strong pipeline of opportunities is developed across areas of strategic interest.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, industry bodies, and international partners to align project goals with national and global standards.
  • Design and implement capacity-building programs to enhance industry knowledge and skills.
  • Monitor financial performance and report to senior leadership.
  • Lead and inspire a team of project managers and specialists.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, engineering, international relations).
  • Proven experience in managing funded projects, preferably in trade, capacity building, or standards development.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align projects with organisational goals.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of policy development and the mechanics of government.

Estimated Salary

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
