Job Description:This role makes a real difference in people's lives. You will work independently or with colleagues to undertake direct care activities for and with individuals as specified in their personal care plans. Some roles may also include components of personal care activities, including showering, toileting, and dressing, medication management, managing finances, meal preparation, household shopping, ironing, basic garden maintenance, vacuuming, pruning, pet care, and other basic home maintenance.
You will use active support principles to assist participants in completing these tasks, ensuring that we encourage active participation in all tasks to a level within their ability. Administrative duties include timely and accurate completion of required administrative tasks and associated documentation, such as shift reports, incident reports, household communication diaries, individual diaries, program notes, WHS checklists, and forms.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current and unrestricted driver's licence.
- A strong desire to have a positive effect on people with disabilities.
- Understanding, ability, and willingness to implement Person-Centred Practices.
- Personal qualities of empathy, resilience, and patience.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment.
- IT skills to a level where you can use the Microsoft Office suite and complete shift reports, maintain a communication diary, and program notes.
- Sound communication skills – verbal and written.
- Effective time management skills.
- Desire and commitment towards working with people from diverse cultures.
