Occupational Therapy Opportunity

  • Deliver therapy services to Indigenous children aged 0-12 and their families in a community-based setting.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic support for children with emerging mental health issues or behavioural disorders.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualised treatment plans to optimise children's mental wellbeing.
  • Establish strong relationships with clients, families, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services to Indigenous children and families, prioritising cultural sensitivity and flexibility.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to design and implement treatment plans that cater to diverse needs.
  • Visit clients at home and in town, ensuring accessible and flexible services.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and outcomes, informing future service development.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification, eligible for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA).
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills, with a proactive and adaptable attitude.
  • A genuine respect for diverse client backgrounds and experiences.
