Project Officer - Community Engagement

This is a senior and experienced role for a Project Officer who can support the planning of the hub, including the service model, and ensure the use of codesign initiatives that engage the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead co-design processes in community settings.
  • Develop project management skills, including planning, coordination, and evaluation.
  • Engage with people from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Collaborate with local government and community-based organisations.
  • Support development of the service model with a focus on community voices and inclusion.
  • Utilise Microsoft Office applications and learn new applications as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience leading co-design processes in community settings.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of culturally safe and inclusive practices.
  • Ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Understanding of the Shellharbour community and key stakeholders; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with local government and community-based organisations.
  • High level computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
