Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the processing of a fortnightly payroll for approximately 3,500 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead and mentor a payroll team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality performance and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations and laws.
  • Review and validate payroll data, including hours worked, leave balances, and deductions.
  • Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies, inquiries, or issues from employees in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to manage payroll-related activities, such as benefits administration and tax reporting.
  • Implement and maintain payroll systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports for management, highlighting trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices, and recommend adjustments to payroll processes as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing payroll for a large organization, with a strong understanding of payroll systems and regulations.
  • Experience in supervising and developing a payroll team.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, MYOB) and MS Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
