Technical Assurance and Advice Specialist

About the Role
The APS is seeking a highly skilled Technical Assurance and Advice Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the Systems Engineering team, you will provide assurance and technical advice in support of the Hunter Class Frigate project.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate the technical materiel of the Hunter Class Frigate to ensure it meets requirements, legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
- Investigate and report any non-conformant aspects of the HCF and develop risk assessments, recommendations, and manage courses of action to address any matters or issues arising.
- Evaluate and provide advice on the impact of current design changes, requirements, technical challenges, and design maturity on the HCF.
- Evaluate and provide advice on the impact of integrating new technologies and capabilities on the HCF and assist in the development of technical requirements.

The Hunter Class Frigate project is one of the most advanced warships in the world, with cutting-edge technology and capabilities. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with experts from the UK, USA, Canada, and Europe to provide six frigates optimised for anti-submarine warfare to the Royal Australian Navy.

- Ability to tailor communication style and language to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prioritising work to ensure that the most important work is completed and avoid the team becoming distracted with low-priority tasks.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous experience and strong knowledge of T&E, safety, certification, and/or requirements management and the application of these to naval ships.
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering management and the impact on the delivery of naval ships.
- Solid understanding of the Systems Engineering process.
- Highly capable of analysis techniques, data verification, and validation.
- The ability to review and produce technical documentation and reports.
- Previous experience and understanding of working within a complex contractual environment.
