Job Description

The role of Deputy Project Manager – Maritime is to provide high-level support to the Project Manager in the planning, execution and closure of all project activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the project has the necessary resources to execute the plan.

The Deputy Project Manager will also ensure that project risks are appropriately managed, including the development and execution of mitigation plans. This will involve identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.

In addition, the Deputy Project Manager will be responsible for monitoring and reporting project performance, including the development of a performance measurement plan. This will involve tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing regular updates to stakeholders.

Another key aspect of this role will be to develop effective project stakeholder engagement plans and execute them. This will involve building relationships with key stakeholders and communicating project progress and outcomes to them.

Finally, the Deputy Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the project adheres to all relevant policies, procedures and regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager in a maritime environment
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
