Job Description

A unique opportunity to work on the design, development and implementation of robust telecommunications systems for the aviation industry.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform systems engineering tasks in accordance with the company's Technology Management Framework and other relevant processes, policies, and guidelines.
  2. Design and develop technical specifications and standards that meet customers' requirements.
  3. Manage in-depth investigations, analysis, and diagnosis of complex system issues and recommend solutions.
  4. Prepare test plans, test cases and participate in various levels of system testing.
  5. Gather, analyse and report system performance data and identify areas in need of improvement.
  6. Prepare documentation related to system upgrade activities.
  7. Manage on-going system changes to assure technical integrity and software assurance at the system level.
  8. Maintain the suite of engineering and technical documentation.
  9. Report and manage the resolution of safety hazards identified within a specified timeframe.
  10. Provide specialist technical expertise to projects.
Requirements
  • To be considered for the role, you must be an Australian Citizen, hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering, be eligible for Registration as a Professional Engineer in relevant area of engineering and achieve and maintain an Australian Government National Security Clearance.
  • Hold a degree in an appropriate Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology degree from an Australian tertiary institution or certified equivalent qualification.
  • Be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in relevant area of engineering.
  • Demonstrate experience applying Systems Engineering practices throughout the system design, verification and management processes.
  • Have extensive experience in the design, development, testing and implementation of robust and reliable telecommunications systems.
  • Demonstrate stakeholder and vendor management skills.
  • Show ability to take ownership of tasks and work as a member of a dynamic team.
  • Have strong documentation skills with experience in preparing and reviewing solution architecture documents and system design documents.
Benefits

You will primarily support activities in the VHF communications domain. You will also provide engineering support to the UHF and HF communications domain as required.
