Senior Deal Desk Specialist, APJ

Smartsheet is seeking a seasoned professional to join our Finance Operations team as a Senior Deal Desk Specialist, supporting the Global Sales and Finance Operations teams with deal facilitation through the Quote to Cash sales cycle.

This role will work collaboratively with key partners across Sales, Professional Services, Legal, Privacy, Finance, Security, Compliance, Product, and Revenue Recognition Accounting teams to ensure deals are structured and negotiated to comply with Smartsheet policies and processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sales process, billing, revenue recognition, and deal structuring, with the ability to consult and advise on common deal patterns.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the Global Sales Teams for deal structuring and support other internal stakeholders throughout the sales cycle to expedite deal execution
  • Providing guidance on routine to moderately complex deal structures in a way that maximizes ACV and customer satisfaction, and manages risk for Smartsheet
  • Working cross-functionally with various teams to address custom deal requirements
  • Elevating specialized issues to appropriate business partners and driving resolution to those issues
  • Being the main point of contact to lead deals through appropriate approval levels
  • Continuously reviewing deal progression and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure optimal deal cycle times and precise execution
  • Adhering to a same-day response commitment to set service standards that can be relied upon
  • Reviewing submitted Deal Requests for accuracy and conformance to Smartsheet sales order acceptance policies
  • Ensuring all approved requests have been properly documented in accordance with Finance Operations and accounting processes
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and working towards zero processing errors
  • Establishing and leading project improvement plans with defined timelines
  • Contributing to various process improvement projects as needed

Requirements include:

  • 5+ years of relevant Deal Desk or Sales Support experience in a SaaS company with Direct, Channel, Government, Services, and International Sales
  • A good understanding of sales process, billing, revenue recognition, and deal structuring
  • Ability to consult and advise on common deal patterns
  • Strong aptitude for building interpersonal relationships to regularly challenge the status quo
  • Self-motivated and able to affect change within the organization to improve processes
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours on a rotating schedule for coverage to support AMER and EMEA Sales teams
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, CPQ, Netsuite, or similar systems CRM and ERP systems
