About the Opportunity

As a Senior Mining Engineer, you will provide expert support to our operations as we undergo significant growth. You will oversee day-to-day mine activities underground, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the growth of your career as our output doubles in the next three years.

  • Manage and drive mine production activities as required to meet business objectives in terms of production and cost.
  • Effective communication of all engineering plans and schedules to the underground workforce.
  • Mentor junior engineers in drill & blast, ventilation, dewatering, backfilling, and production processes.
  • Regular review of established processes and standards to maximize economic profit for the operation.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of the UG mobile equipment fleet: Jumbos, loaders, trucks, longhole drill, diamond drill, raisebore.
  • Ensure QAQC of explosives charging practices. Establishes schedules for drill and blast operations for the underground mining.
  • Monitor the performance of any contractors involved in these activities.
  • Reviews with other engineering specialists, mining production targets, and ore specifications and liaises with process personnel accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Planning: Coordinate and drive mine production activities to meet business objectives.
  • Communication: Effective communication of all engineering plans and schedules to the underground workforce.
  • Talent Development: Mentor junior engineers in drill & blast, ventilation, dewatering, backfilling, and production processes.
  • Process Improvement: Regular review of established processes and standards to maximize economic profit.
  • Equipment Management: Coordinate the scheduling of the UG mobile equipment fleet.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in mine engineering.
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge of drilling, blasting, and ventilation.
