Chief Medical Imaging Technologist Job Description

This is a key leadership position that requires an experienced and skilled professional to lead our team of medical imaging technologists. The Chief Medical Imaging Technologist will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients, as well as leading the development and implementation of imaging protocols and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical imaging and experience in a similar leadership role. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to motivate and develop others.

  • Develop and implement imaging protocols and procedures to ensure high-quality diagnostic images are produced
  • Lead and manage a team of medical imaging technologists to deliver exceptional patient care and service
  • Collaborate with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of our imaging services
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar leadership role, preferably in a radiology or medical imaging setting
  • Registration with AHPRA and/or ASAR
  • Relevant qualifications and certifications in medical imaging
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and develop others
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
