Senior Financial Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team.

This is a leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive improvements and mentor others.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the production of monthly and annual financial reports to strict deadlines
  • Ensure reconciliation and integrity of the general ledger, including debtors, creditors, accruals, and fixed assets
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, providing clear and accurate responses to queries
  • Implement improvements to reporting systems to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team that embraces change and continuous learning
  • Support the development of policies, systems, and procedures across the organization
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Essential Requirements:
  • CA or CPA qualification and relevant tertiary education in accounting/finance
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and ongoing professional development
  • Extensive experience in financial reporting and accounting services, particularly in producing monthly and annual reports
  • Proven ability to manage teams, foster collaboration, and deliver continuous improvements
  • Strong compliance skills with the ability to navigate evolving regulatory frameworks
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
  • High-level analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and financial management information systems
