Job Title: Conservation Officer

This role is a key part of our team's effort to educate and engage the public in conservation efforts.

About the Role:

The Conservation Officer will work closely with our team to develop and deliver educational programs for visitors to our parks and reserves.

Responsibilities include developing and delivering interpretative guiding and/or educational programs to students or groups, as well as assisting in the training and supervision of staff and volunteers.

We are seeking an experienced educator who can develop and deliver engaging programs that promote conservation and environmental awareness.

Requirements:
  • Current Working with Children check
  • First Aid Certificate and Current Australian Drivers Licence, or willingness to obtain
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends, public holidays and school holidays
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering interpretative guiding and/or educational programs to students or groups
  • Awareness of Aboriginal culture and broad knowledge of the natural and historic/ heritage values of the local area
  • Sound understanding of Risk Management, Minimal Impact and Bush Safety principles in relation to guided tours in a cultural or field setting
