Job Description

As a Senior Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for leading a team of laboratory professionals to deliver exceptional construction materials testing services. You will ensure compliance with NATA accreditation standards and participate in internal and external audits to maintain our reputation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality construction materials testing, maintaining NATA accreditation.
  • Actively participating in internal and external audits and proficiency programs.
  • Training junior technicians, fostering a culture of accuracy and integrity.
  • Maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
  • Liaising with field and project teams to ensure timely sample handling and reporting.
  • Promoting a strong safety-first culture in all work practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a NATA-authorised signatory in CMT or geotechnical testing.
  • Diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian standards and Queensland TMR test methods.
  • Experience supervising teams or mentoring junior staff in a laboratory setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's Licence, Construction Induction Card (White Card), and PDMG Licence desirable.
