Job Description

The role involves overseeing the delivery of quality project outcomes by leveraging well-evolved stakeholder management skills, communicating project resource requirements, achieving agreed project milestones and meeting customer project requirements.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Define, manage and own the scope of work, including schedule, cost and quality outcomes for the project.
  • Develop the project approach to achieve project and business outcomes as per the Project Directive.
  • Identify opportunities in order to maximise outcomes and quality project delivery.
  • Provide leadership, direction and delegation to the Project Management Team.
  • Prepare, monitor and revise project plans, estimates, cost accounts and schedules for the project to meet the objectives set by the Project Directive.
  • Lead and present status at Steering Committee Meetings, Gate Reviews, Customer Reviews and Progress Meetings.
  • Manage Contract Variations and scope change along with assessing and managing project risks.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Your skills and experience as a project manager will include:

  • Working in the defence industry (desirable).
  • A strong understanding of best practice in project management.
  • Proven experience in the project life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies.
  • An understanding of the lifecycle of system development projects.
  • Awareness of earned value management principles (desirable).
  • Meeting the requirements of Australian Institute of Project Management CPPM accreditation or similar (desirable).
