Project Director Job Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our Construction, Projects and Assets practice in Perth. This full-time role offers excellent career opportunities and professional development for your future progression within the firm.

The successful candidate will advise contractors, subcontractors, lenders, developers, funders and lawyers on contractual, technical and commercial issues related to complex construction and engineering projects. They will also help clients resolve commercial disputes by establishing a clear, commercial strategy, promoting early resolution.

• Advise clients on contractual, technical and commercial issues related to complex construction and engineering projects.
• Help clients resolve commercial disputes through negotiation and mediation.
• Provide support to quantum and/or delay experts involved in the preparation of expert reports for arbitration, litigation and adjudication.
• Review construction/engineering contracts and advise on relevant terms and conditions.
• Analyse complex project data including costs, labour hours and quantities etc.
• Quantity surveying duties, including cost management, commercial or contract management, and contract administration.

• Support obtaining professional accreditation, e.g. Chartered Quantity Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Chartered Engineer, Associate or Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators or similar.

Ideally, you will have:

• Between 5 to 7 years (Associate Director level) or 7 to 10 years'+ (Director level) claims, commercial, contract administration, cost engineering, quantity surveying and/or disputes advisory related experience.
• A bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• Experience in the preparation of quantum expert reports for arbitration, litigation and adjudication.
• Experience in the preparation and negotiation of claims in a commercial/claims driven environment on construction/engineering projects.
• Experience in the quantification and costing and/or commercial management of construction works.
• A general understanding of forensic delay analysis techniques.
• Site-based construction/engineering experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• The ability to work on multiple client matters at one time with limited supervision.
• A strong work ethic and integrity and high level of professionalism.
• Excellent MS Word and Excel skills.
