Assistant Accountant

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a high-performing Finance team.

This role provides exposure to financial reporting, tax, and general ledger accounting. You will work closely with experienced mentors, including the Payroll Manager, Financial Accountant, Finance Manager, and CFO, with opportunities to broaden your skillset and continue developing your career.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage payroll processing across multiple states (NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, ACT), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Maintain and update employee and adviser records, including onboarding, offboarding, and employment changes.
  • Calculate and process terminations, leave accruals, salaries, and superannuation payments.
  • Prepare payroll reporting, including STP, payroll tax, superannuation, and year-end processes.
  • Manage payroll-related queries and prepare ad hoc payroll/finance reporting as required.
  • Provide support in financial reporting, general ledger, FBT, BAS preparation, and month-end processes.

As a highly skilled professional, you will possess strong knowledge of superannuation, payroll tax, leave entitlements, and STP, and demonstrate excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. You will be a clear and confident communicator, able to work effectively across all levels, and possess professional, discreet, and capable of handling sensitive employee information. A team-oriented individual, you will have a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
