Job Overview

This leadership position plays a pivotal role in shaping the safety culture and risk management within our organization.

The incumbent will lead significant Work Health and Safety (WHS) programs, manage a dedicated team, and provide evidence-based solutions to complex and emerging WHS issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and build capability within a small team, delivering occupational hygiene and health programs that align with WHS strategy and broader organizational priorities.
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based advice on emerging WHS issues, while ensuring effective communication and relationship-building with key stakeholders.
  • Design, implement, and monitor the Occupational Health and Hygiene Management Plan, coordinating health assessments, risk management initiatives, and the validation of control measures.
  • Review and communicate findings from expert reports, collaborating with the WHS National Operations Section and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular updates on health and hygiene initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and effective stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice, and relevant Australian and International Standards.
  • Strong background in hazard and risk management practices, with specialization in Occupational Hygiene and Health.
  • Developed and implemented successful Occupational Hygiene and Health management programs.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a WHS leadership or management role.
  • Preferred qualifications in health, science, occupational hygiene, or work health and safety.
